Attractions
The holiday season is special everywhere, but uniquely special
on the coast of Maine. Our Inn, with all of its traditional
atmosphere, is a perfect spot to enjoy the merriment of the
season with friends and colleagues. Dressed in garlands of
evergreen, your memorable celebration needs only jolly voices to
complement our fine food and spirits.
York's Festival of Lights Bi-annual Lighting
Join in a traditional celebration of the coming
holiday season as the townspeople "light up" the Village in
thousands of white lights or our "Christmas in July" lighting!
Twice each year the lighthouse is adorned with white lights,
outlining the houses and tower. The first event is known as
"Christmas in July" and the second is the Annual Lighting of the
Nubble and both events are held at Sohier Park.
The Annual Lighting of the Nubble is always held the first
Saturday after Thanksgiving. The event begins at 5:00 p.m. and
countdown to lights on is around 6:00 p.m. This is a fun family
evening with a variety of entertainment. Other events around the
holidays include our traditional Christmas parade, caroling,
craft fairs, business open houses, refreshments and the arrival
of Santa Claus!
Festival of Lights of Parade -
Join us in York's Holiday Season Festival of Lights Parade.
This event starts the holiday season - traditionally the first Saturday
in December (the week after Thanksgiving).
New Year's Eve - On the evening of December 31st and January
1st, we celebrate New Years Eve at the York Harbor Inn. The
event includes a truly fine meal served with fine champagne,
followed by our midnight extravaganza with dancing to live music
until the wee hours of the morning. Our overnight guests fall
off to sleep when they please, with never a care or a worry.
Reservations at the Inn are a must.
Christmas in July is always the kickoff for our annual of
York Days Celebration, which will be Sunday, July 30, 2006. The
event runs from 8:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a fun family
evening of entertainment and countdown to 'lights on' at around
9:00 p.m.
