Harbor Cliffs Bed & Breakfast Inn History
 Thayer "Tax" Cumings
purchased Harbor Cliffs in 1945. He designed additions and made
renovations, adding to its wonderful symmetry, classic lines,
and fine details in woodwork and hardware. His family vacation
home doubled as a social stop for his fellow Reading Room
members. Often times, their parties flowed from their private
social clubhouse across the street to the Cumings' home, where
rugs were rolled up and dancing continued into the wee hours of
the morning.
Harbor Cliffs had been a private residence for many years when
it was purchased by the owners of the York Harbor Inn during the
summer of 1997. The Dominguez' immediately renovated the entire
building, creating the seven private rooms with beautiful
hardwood floors and elegant furnishings.
Harbor Cliff Inn has both deluxe and luxury room types.
