Team
Building by the Sea
Taking the “bored” out
of board room meetings – a seaside setting, sand castles, even
chocolate, make the York Harbor Inn an innovative campus for
your next conference
YORK HARBOR, MAINE - The York Harbor Inn team
is always working to find new and exciting ways to engage
meeting attendees. Recognizing that today’s businesses need to
go beyond the boardroom, The York Harbor Inn is introducing new
meeting forums to inspire team building and brainstorming – to
break out of the traditional bored boardroom. For the summer and
fall of 2007, The York Harbor Inn is featuring two new “think
outside the bored room” group activities.
Team Sand Sculpting at York Harbor Beach
For outdoor enthusiasts, roll up your sleeves for “Team Sand
Sculpting at York Harbor Beach.” Internationally known sand
sculptor Justin Gordon will provide your group with an
incredibly inspiring sand castle demonstration, then lead your
group with hands on instruction. This fun but focused program
can be adjusted to meet your particular group’s size and needs.
Master-sculptor Gordon provides an entertaining and productive
team building activity at our beautiful Oceanside location, just
steps from the York Harbor Inn. The Team Sand Sculpting program
includes all tools and materials as well as instruction and
organized competition and awards. The key to improving your work
relations may just lay in the sand, and a “dig in” day at the
beach. Your group’s efforts will be immortalized in a team photo
and each team member will receive a copy to take with them as a
memento and reminder of the relationships built and strengthened
by your event at the seaside.
In the Company of Chocolate
For groups with an interest in all things sweet and chocolaty,
the York Harbor Inn now offers a decadent “In the Company of
Chocolate” program. We all know chocolate holds a certain power
over certain people. Put on an apron and learn to make fancy
fine quality chocolates with your team mates. Your group will be
invited into the charming kitchen of nearby fancy Chocolatier
Susan Tuveson. There Susan will introduce you and your team
members to the fine art of chocolate making. She does wonderful
things using exciting ingredients like curry, juniper, cardamom
and more. This seemingly sweet group activity may hold the
secret ingredient to improving work relations. Your guests will
receive a York Harbor Inn apron and a team photo as well as a
batch of the most wonderful chocolates ever, as nothing tastes
better than that which we make ourselves.
